In an exclusive must-watch interview with Sky Sports F1, Bernie Ecclestone talks candidly to Martin Brundle about Formula 1's takeover and his own future in the sport.
In the forthright and explosive interview the F1 supremo reveals he could walk away from Formula 1 if he doesn't like the sport's future direction.
Citing Max Mosley's interview with Sky Sports News HQ where the former FIA president suggested his former ally could voluntarily leave his position, Ecclestone said: "Well Max knows me very well".
The 86-year-old went on to add: "Thank God at the moment I don't need the money, I don't need a job. And if by chance things are going what I don't think is the right way, I may well be wrong, then I will disappear for sure."
When asked how his relationship with F1's new chairman Chase Carey would differ to previous strained collaborations with co-workers Ecclestone said "it probably won't."
Upon Brundle suggesting that he would have to work with Carey, Ecclestone replied: "The only thing I have to do is die and pay my tax. Short of that I don't have to do anything".
Currently Ecclestone brokers the deals between F1 and circuits and teams and there were queues of people waiting to speak to him in Singapore. So will that change in the future?
"It will only change if I am not there," responded Ecclestone.
