Can Tua ignite the heavyweight division?

Is David Tua back? Will he finally get that world championship title or has the time passed by for him? Last Saturday night the Tuaman fought his fellow countryman, Shane Cameron, in what is arguably the biggest fight ever in New Zealand. Tua won in style by knocking Cameron out cold in the 2nd round having already put him down twice in the first round. Cameron had only one loss on his record going into this fight and had fought a few times in America gaining experience and exposure. In his only loss he was stopped in the final minute of the 12th round even though he was winning on all the judge's cards at the time of the stoppage. He was a puncher but hadn't really fought any top guys in the division and has been down before so it was unclear how he would cope with Tua's punches. Tua lost to Lennox Lewis for the world title in November 2000 but he looked as though he had turned off in that fight. He has rallied off eight straight wins since coming back in March 2005 after being out of the ring for two years. Cameron was hoping to catapult himself into the world spotlight with a win and be back in world title contention but from the get-go Tua took the advantage and dropped Cameron quickly. Tua looked good fighting in the 230 lbs range and was punching more. His left hooks were the knockdown punches but he put combinations together and had good head movement. His experience showed clearly. After the fight Tua talked about fighting again soon, maybe in December. He wants to get a few more fights before that big title shot. A fight with Tua and one of the Klitschko brothers or the winner of the upcoming David Haye v Nikolay Valuev could happen next year. If a title shot happens, hopefully Tua can win it. He has power, a good chin and excitement to bring to the table. Something this division definitely needs. Let's trust the Tua we saw defeat Cameron is here to stay.
