Pacquiao bout would allow Hitman to remain at light-welterweight
Manny Pacquiao is to focus his attentions on a fight with Ricky Hatton - after he's dealt with Oscar De La Hoya on December 6.
The Filipino superstar is a four-weight world champion and regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world right now.
Next up for 'Pacman' is a bout in Las Vegas against modern-day legend De La Hoya,
which can be seen live on Sky Box Office on Judgement Night.
However, the 29-year-old is already plotting his next move - a money-spinning showdown with The Hitman, who produced an impressive stoppage of Paulie Malignaggi at the weekend.
Good fight
"I watched the (Hatton-Malignaggi) fight happen, it was a good fight," he said.
"I'm ready to fight him. I'm willing to fight Hatton but right now I'm just focused on this coming fight (against De La Hoya).
"And I don't want to discuss something that can affect my concentration for that fight."
Hatton will head back to the MGM Grand next month to watch the Pacquiao-De La Hoya contest, the winner of which is likely to be the Brit's next opponent.
While fighting De La Hoya would mean a move up to 147lbs again, the same weight at which he lost his perfect professional record to Floyd Mayweather Jnr last year, a bout with Pacman would see him able to stay at his preferred light-welterweight limit.
"Whether it's the winner or the loser, it's a great fight but you would want it to be against the winner," Hatton said after beating Malignaggi.
"I would like it to be Pacquiao, he's the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. If Pacquiao beats Oscar I will get my dream of becoming the best pound for pound fighter in the world."
