Manny Pacquiao insists he has no fears about facing undefeated Floyd Mayweather in their eagerly-awaited welterweight showdown on May 2.

Pacquiao remains convinced he will become the man to end Mayweather’s run of 47 straight wins and says he was more worried about previous fights against Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto.

The Filipino superstar headed into his 2008 clash with De La Hoya as underdog but upset the odds in Las Vegas as he battered the six-weight world champion into retirement following eight one-sided rounds.

Pacquiao - after taking just two rounds to effectively end Ricky Hatton’s career - then took on Cotto and floored the Puerto Rican twice before stopping him in the 12th to claim his seventh world title in as many weight classes.

More from Mayweather V Pacquiao

"In my heart and in my mind, I was more worried when I fought De La Hoya and Cotto than this fight," the WBO welterweight champion told ESPN.

"Floyd has good hand speed but his legs are not that fast anymore. I have quick hand speed and good footwork. That's my advantage.

"I really wanted this fight. To prove that I'm here, Manny Pacquiao, that can easily beat the undefeated.

"Beating Floyd Mayweather is good for boxing. A lot of athletes, when they have success in life, the success goes to their head,"
