American wants to put heavyweight boxing back on the map

Kevin 'Kingpin' Johnson is ready to take on all-comers after being confirmed in the latest Prizefighter line-up alongside Albert Sosnowski, Kali Meehan and Tom Dallas. Johnson is one of three world title challengers among the first four boxers announced for the heavyweight tournament at York Hall, Bethnal Green on June 20th. Johnson and Sosnowski have both faced Vitali Klitschko for the WBC belt, while Meehan fell the wrong side of a split decision to Lamon Brewster for the WBO strap. The 32-year-old American is not short of confidence and is hoping for a rematch with Klitschko after the Prizefighter tournament.

Deliver

"I'm ready to put the American heavyweight boxing scene back on the map starting with the Betfair Prizefighter tournament on June 20," said Johnson. "Like I tell everybody, I am the best American heavyweight - bar none! If people see me, they will know it. Don't worry about Seth Mitchell, Chris Arreola or any of those other clowns. Just focus on me and watch me deliver. "I'm the best heavyweight in the world that's not named Klitschko, and after Prizefighter, I'll take care of that too. "I was devastated when I learned that I couldn't travel last year to participate in Prizefighter. I was in top shape and ready to face every heavyweight in the tournament but I'm going to make up for that this year by knocking out everybody in the first round in all three fights. I'm not taking no chances so I'm bringing my A-game to London. "I'm already coming off of a huge win in Australia so after this the whole world is going to know that I am back and ready to dominate the heavyweight division. I can't wait to get to the UK and I plan on making it make my second home after I win Prizefighter."
