Injury to Molitor means bout is pushed back to September

Jason Booth's bid to land a world title has been postponed until September after IBF super-bantamweight champion Steve Molitor was injured. Booth, the British and Commonwealth champion, had been due to take on Molitor in Sunderland on July 23. However the Canadian has been forced to pull out the original date after he broke a bone in his first in training. The fight has now been rescheduled for September 10. The rest of the card at the Rainton Meadow Arena on July 23 will go ahead as planned, though, with the British bantamweight title fight between Stuey Hall and Martin Power now top of the bill. And Power, who lost to Hall in their first fight, is relishing the chance to shine. "I'm sorry to hear the news that Jason Booth's fight has fallen through but it is a great opportunity for myself to win a Lonsdale belt outright," he said. "It will be a different Martin Powers than the one who me to Stuey Hall in an overweight contest last September. And I have no problem travelling to his backyard." Hall, who will be making his first defence of his title, is confident of retaining his belt. "It's great to be given the opportunity once again to fight in front of my home fans and I promise them fireworks before they go off on their summer holidays," said Hall. On the undercard, Nigel Wright will face Dean Harrison for the vacant English light-welterweight title, while Olympian Tony Jeffries will also be in action.
