Londoner insists he can survive Barrett's best shots
David Haye insists he will be able to handle everything Monte Barrett will throw at him when the two clash at the O2 Arena on November 15.
Haye is hoping that victory over the dangerous American will move him into contention for a showdown with for IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Haye, though, will first have to prove his punch resistance has improved - with doubts over his ability to take a punch on his chin.
However the 27-year-old Londoner, who unified won the WBO, WBC and WBA titles at cruiserweight, is confident in his ability.
"At some stage in the first few rounds I'll take a few of Monte's bombs bouncing off my chin. How will I react?" he said.
"People think I'll fall down and go to sleep, but I believe I'll tough it out and pull through.
"I want to know how I'll react when I get hit solidly on the chin by a genuine heavyweight puncher.
"Either you can take it or you can't - we've seen that in recent times.
"You can have all the skill and ability in the world but if your punch resistance isn't there, it isn't there.
"Not having to make weight will make a big difference to taking heavyweight punches.
"It's no secret I struggled to make cruiserweight. I've never been able to pack in the calories. Now I can eat healthily. The bigger I am the better I can take shots."
