Amir Khan will make his long-awaited British comeback, five years since he last fought in the UK, this Saturday in Liverpool live on Sky Sports.
The 31-year-old has been absent from the ring for almost two years but he will finally return to the squared circle when he takes on fast-talking Canadian Phil Lo Greco at the Echo Arena.
Watch the latest chapter of his career unfold live on Sky Sports Action or Main Event from 7:00pm on Saturday.
After a stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, 'King Khan' returns to the more familiar territory of a boxing ring and the former world champion, now signed to Matchroom Boxing, is intent on once again claiming world honours.
It is two years since Khan was last in action, a failed yet audacious attempt to dethrone Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez of his middleweight crown in May 2016, and the Bolton star will be back at welterweight for his clash with Lo Greco.
The Canadian come-forward fighter is no pushover though and, having previously taken Shawn Porter the scheduled distance and shared the ring with Errol Spence Jr, he provides an ideal measuring stick to see where Khan sits in the 147lb ranks.
Since bursting on the scene to win silver at the 2004 Olympics, aged just 17, Khan's career has been somewhat of a roller coaster ride, one blotched with memorable highs and despairing lows, and the former WBA and IBF super-lightweight world champion can not afford another slip up.
Two of those lows came via stunning knockout defeats to Danny Garcia and 'Canelo' and Khan will be eager to cast away those lingering doubts over his "questionable" chin. A win over 'The Italian Sensation' will be one step towards removing those uncertainties.
Victory should lead to a tilt at the big boys in the division, Keith Thurman, Garcia, Errol Spence Jr, Manny Pacquiao or Terence Crawford mean options could be aplenty. A domestic showdown with stablemate Kell Brook also remains a real possibility and, now under the same boxing banner, that match-up could be closer than ever.
It is five years since 'King Khan' last fought on British soil and, after honing his undoubted boxing talent in the United States, UK fans can finally once again see their favourite in action.
The 31-year-old is rarely ever in a dull fight and, aided by Lo Greco's aggressive approach, fans can expect another all-action affair. Khan's dazzling hand speed and technical prowess make him a firm favourite, but with a somewhat susceptible chin, anything can happen.
There is plenty more on offer at The Echo and local favourite Sean 'Masher' Dodd leads the support cast as he defends his Commonwealth lightweight strap against Tommy Coyle.
Elsewhere, Conor Benn, Anthony Fowler, Qais Ashfaq and Natasha Jonas will all look to continue their unbeaten streaks in the pro ranks, while Sam Eggington will be hoping to make a typically savaging display as he makes his super-welterweight debut.
Sky Sports News will be keeping you up-to-date but there will also be two separate shows welcoming Khan's returns to these shores. Our exclusive Off Limits show sees Anna Woolhouse put the fighter on the spot and then, on Friday evening our JD Ringside show will set the scene ahead of Saturday's event.
The Echo Arena card will be live on Sky Sports from 7:00pm on Saturday, but you can also follow the action via skysports.com, the Sky Sports mobile app and @SkySportsBoxing on Twitter.
Watch Khan vs Lo Greco from Liverpool, live on Saturday, April 21, on Sky Sports Main Event & Action, from 7.00pm.
