Crolla vs Burns: The Panel discuss what is next for the winner of Anthony Crolla against Ricky Burns
Friday 6 October 2017 08:10, UK
It is a high-stakes clash with careers on the line and ahead of Anthony Crolla fighting Ricky Burns, our panel look at where the eventual winner can go.
Crolla will battle Glasgow's Burns this Saturday night in a lightweight showdown at the Manchester Arena, live on Sky Sports, and both fighters will hope victory pushes them on to a world title opportunity...
Tony Bellew
Victory should lead to a potential world title shot because whoever wins this has just beaten another world-class fighter, so why shouldn't they get another go.
It depends how they win though and if it is a close points win, something like that, then they have every chance of getting more big fights and going for that world title.
Luke Campbell
Johnny Nelson
For me, the winner has to face Luke Campbell next. Luke gave a good account of himself against Linares, did better than most of us thought he would, and it's the gradual progression.

For Campbell to improve and prove he is world class, domestically, this is the best fight for him so it's perfectly set up for the winners to collide in an eliminator.

I don't see either of them getting a world title fight on the back of this but it does put them into a position to get right back into the world-title mix again.
The lightweight division has plenty going on, but I know that Luke Campbell is happy to fight the winner of this and that would be perfect. Then the winner of that puts themselves right back into the mix.
Conor Benn
John Murray
They have both been successful in their careers but I can't see either of them getting back to that level.
One thing that I wouldn't mind seeing is a rematch, unless it is too one-sided, which I can't see it being. They are both good guys and why not cash in? Maybe even a trilogy - everyone else seems to be doing it!

If Crolla wins, I would love to see him face Terry Flanagan, that would be huge in Manchester. Terry is the world champ but Crolla is still a huge draw, so it would be great if they could finally go at it.
If Burns wins, I would love to see him fight Linares. The Venezuelan has beat three other Brits, but could he beat Burns as well?
