Adrien Broner is open to a clash with super-lightweight rival Ricky Burns, as long as it makes financial sense.
Broner is preparing for a fight on February 18 against Adrian Granados, while it was recently announced that WBA champion Burns will face Julius Indongo in a unification clash on April 15.
Four-weight world champion Broner, nicknamed ‘The Problem’, is hoping that a big year lies ahead and a clash with Scotland’s Burns remains a real possibility down the line.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Broner said: “It’s going to be an enormous year for me and I’m at a much more positive, great stage and on a real good path now.
“My fight is on February 18, but before that two of my fighters, Rau’shee Warren and Robert Easter Jr, are fighting on February 10 defending world titles so big things are going on.
“I would love to face Ricky Burns and most definitely you could get me to the UK. Make my numbers right and we will have one hell of a fight.”
The 27-year-old also gave his opinion on the current state of boxing and the resurgence of the heavyweight division.
“It’s great to see the heavyweight division coming back around. At first it was the smaller weights like mine and welterweight, but now the heavyweights are back and it is making boxing a bigger sport.
“Boxing will be back where it needs to be very soon.”
