What did we learn at Tuesday's public work-out?

From Golovkin's point of view, he looked the same as he usually does and that's explosive, powerful and nice and relaxed.

From Brook's point of view, physically he looked much better and it seemed he had a lot more energy to do his work-out. That's quite obviously to do with not having to struggle to make the weight. Whether the energy will be an advantage on the night is a difficult one because having energy and being able to compete at the weight are two totally different things.

Has Kell Brook carried his speed up to middleweight?

That extra energy should help his movement, speed and reflexes and it certainly didn't look like his extra weight had hampered his speed. If anything, he looked sharper so physically he's in a better place. The only thing is that he's going up in weight against someone as good as Golovkin.

Does Brook's smile mean he truly believes or that he has nothing to lose?

When fighters are big underdogs and not many people think they've got much of a chance, you tend to see them simmering before a fight like this. They have real self-belief. There's no pressure on their shoulders to perform in any particular way because people don't expect them to produce, so with no expectation they can just go in there and do their best.

Watch Gennady Golovkin's incredible pad skills

Part of the reason Brook always looks so good is that he's genetically a very good specimen and he holds muscle quite naturally. He has to strip it down to get to welterweight so he knows he'll be in better condition now if the fight goes long. On paper, that's a big 'if' but if he can take Golovkin to the later rounds and test him then it'll definitely get interesting.

Is Golovkin the most inventive puncher of all time?

I've certainly seen a few people trying some of his trademark shots since he started to throw them more regularly. Since he knocked out Marco Antonio Rubio with that extraordinary overhand left, a lot of other fighters have tried to emulate him but it's such a difficult one to get power into. That's why it had never been used before and the reason everyone has talked about it so much since Golovkin started using it.

A look back at Golovkin’s devastating stoppage of Rubio

To be able to land those shots cleanly and with full power, you need people holding their feet so unless Brook is planting his feet, that shot won't really come into play in this fight. Early on in the fight, it won't be particularly relevant but while everyone emphasises the strength of Golovkin's left hook, nobody can say that they've been able to throw those other shots. I think it'll be known as 'The Golovkin shot' forever.

Will Brook stay at middleweight after this or cut down again straight away?

I don't ever see Brook returning to welterweight. It's always hampered him making the 147lb limit and knowing about weight struggles myself, I'd imagine that the withdrawals in the past through injuries may have been down to the stress of making weight.

Why Brook is sure he can pull off one of the biggest upsets

This fight coming along was his exit from the weight division and that's regardless of the outcome. If he pulls off the upset and wins then he'll stay at middleweight but I don't think he's going to win and therefore Brook's future probably lies at light-middleweight. He'd be a great size for light-middleweight and there are some great fights in that division awaiting him too. Let's get Saturday out of the way first and see from there but I don't think he'll ever box at welterweight again.

Where will you be watching?

I won't be at The O2 because I'm on babysitting duties that night. The missus is working that night. I'll be at the Manchester derby during the day and then I've got a few of my friends coming around to watch the boxing. We're all going to plot up in front of the television and take in the action.

Naseem Hamed thinks this is one of the biggest fights ever

There'll be seven of us in front of the TV. There's one Manchester City who's due to come but whether he's allowed in my house or not depends entirely on what happens earlier in the day. If United win or it's a draw then he'll be welcomed with open arms but if City win then the door's getting locked.
