David Allen wants to fight and beat David Price in October to prove he's "got no chin".
The Doncaster man insists the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist is not good enough to challenge IBF world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, after the Liverpudlian not only called him out but claimed he left him "flat on his face and ushered out of the ring" in sparring.
Allen (9-1-1-KO6) is back in action on September 3 following his July loss to Dillian Whyte and with Price (20-3-KO17) on the Tony Bellew undercard in Liverpool six weeks later, he believes he can prove that his British rival is not world class.
"David Price is out on October 15 and that is one I am looking to take," he told Sky Sports' Andy Scott.
"He's got no chin. I don't believe he's got any heart for the game, I think he's just cashing out for a Joshua fight. After September 3, I will be coming on the back of a win and David Price is the same as Matt Skelton - at British level.
"Everyone is saying Dillian Whyte is better than British level, so I am probably domestic level. I am the epitome of domestic level, so why not?"
Allen admits he made mistakes against Whyte, including not throwing enough punches, but believes he can still mix with the very best in the domestic heavyweight scene.
The 24-year-old took the Leeds fight at three weeks' notice and admits he lost to the better man on the night, but still wants to prove himself against Price.
"Dillian beat me and I don't make excuses," he said.
"I came out with a lot of positives and one of them might be getting David Price to man up and fight me because I tried to get him to fight before Dillian Whyte.
"I know Price won't make millions of pounds but he can shut me up once and for all if he knocks me out."
