James DeGale is ready to end his North American road trip once he has dealt with Rogelio Medina this weekend.
The Londoner will step between the ropes in Washington DC on Saturday, live on Sky Sports, to defend the IBF super middleweight belt he won against Andre Dirrell in Boston and kept by outpointing Lucian Bute in Quebec.
And while Medina is the immediate priority, DeGale's thoughts are already turning to a 2016 homecoming unification contest with the winner of Bute's weekend challenge for Badou Jack's WBC title.
He told Sky Sports News HQ: "I love fighting away from home. I'm getting paid, I'm boxing the best, I'm a world champ - life for me right now is fantastic.
"I win this, I look good, the next fight is the winner of Lucian Bute and Badou Jack. If I'm being honest I'd rather box Badou Jack - I've already beaten Lucian Bute and beaten him well.
"If Jack does win, if he does come through, I want him in London so we'll see how it goes."
DeGale is confident of victory against Medina, who has six defeats on his record and is fighting at world level for the first time.
"He's a tough, rugged, loves-a-fight durable Mexican," the champion said.
"Styles make fights and I think he's made for me, but I've got to go in there fully switched on, fully ready and do a good job on him."
