Vitali Klitschko claims his younger brother Wladimir was 'not in good condition' for Saturday's defeat to Tyson Fury.

Fury upset the odds to snatch the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight crowns from 39-year-old Wladimir (64-4-KO53) in Dusseldorf via a comfortable points victory.

In the wake of the defeat, Vitali - a former world heavyweight champion himself - admits there are now questions to answer but is adamant the best is still to come from his younger sibling.

Usually he is in good shape and he fights strategically. This time we did not see him in good condition, no good technique.

In an article reported on BoxingScene.com, Vitali said: "The show will go on. The audience got used to the fact that Wladimir constantly wins all of his fights. But now, in my opinion, the next fight will generate a ton of interest.

"Many experts have said that they did not recognise Wladimir [in that fight, because he did not look like his usual self]. I felt the same way, because Wladimir is one of the most skilful fighters in the world.

"Usually he is in good shape and he fights strategically. This time we did not see him in good condition, no good technique. And the reasons for this we can talk about later - it's too early to discuss them now.

"Wladimir has a lot of potential [to bounce back] and therefore the question arises - in the rematch, will Wladimir arrive in great shape or was it a mishap? Only Wladimir can answer that question. Let me just note that we are yet to see the huge potential of Wladimir."
