Shawn Porter dominates Adrien Broner in Las Vegas

Shawn Porter beat Adrien Broner in a unanimous decision in Las Vegas on Saturday night in a key welterweight matchup.
The judges scored the fight 114-112, 115-111 and 118-108 in favour of Porter, who set the tone for the fight by going on the offensive from the first bell.
Porter - whose only defeat came in surrendering his IBF welterweight strap to Kell Brook last summer - relentlessly attacked to keep Broner on the back foot with flurries of jabs and unforgiving body shots.
Broner tried to frustrate Porter by pushing and holding and was eventually deducted a point for persistent fouling by referee Tony Weeks in round 11.
Finally showing some of the strength and desire that had been sorely lacking hitherto, Broner stunned the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena by sending Porter to the canvas in the final round with a powerful left hook, but it was scant consolation for the former three-time world champion.

Porter said: "I wanted a quicker pace, a faster pace and that's why you have a corner. I think if I had listened to them a little bit better I would have fought a bit better. These are things you can learn about, things you can build on, but this was great fight, a great win. I'll go back and enjoy this fight and keep on going."
On the undercard, undefeated former Olympian Errol Spence (17-0, 14 KOs) kept his perfect record intact with an impressive third-round TKO over veteran Phil Lo Greco.
After a measured first round, Spence landed numerous body shots that quickly slowed Lo Greco. A short right hand floored Lo Greco early in the third round and Spence followed with a number of calculated power shots, forcing the referee to stop the fight at 1:50.
