Kell Brook's IBF title defence against Errol Spence Jr could be held at Bramall Lane in the champion's hometown, says promoter Eddie Hearn.
A deal for Brook to defend his IBF welterweight title against mandatory challenger Spence Jr might be agreed before the end of the week and Hearn has revealed that Sheffield is the "most likely" location for the fight.
Venues in New York and Las Vegas are also under consideration as Brook is willing to fight the American in his own country, although Sheffield United Football Club is the ideal choice for the champion.
"Both countries are still in play," Hearn told Sky Sports. "We like the idea of staging it in the UK, but also Kell quite likes the idea of fighting in America as well. He beat Shawn Porter there, so if the money is right, he doesn't have an issue with going to the States, but most likely Sheffield.
"We're talking to Bramall Lane about it as well, end of May, 20th or the 27th. We have talked about a fight for a while there and I think this one makes sense.
"If we went to America, it would only be New York, or Vegas."
Hearn could push the fight date back a little further to June 4, with talks ongoing between both parties, and is hoping to reach an agreement before the fight goes to purse bids next week.
"Purse bids are next Tuesday, so really we have to get a deal done by then, otherwise it will be purse bids," he said.
