New Zealander Todd may be 55 years old, but the equestrian legend has not ruled out adding to his extensive medal collection at the London 2012 Games.
The eventing veteran has already seen his fair share of Olympic success, having won back-to-back individual gold medals at Los Angeles in 1984 and Seoul in 1988 with his most famous horse Charisma, as well as bronze in Sydney at the 2000 Games aboard Eye Spy II.
Todd retired from international competition after the 2000 Olympics but returned to eventing eight years later, purchasing a 10-year-old grey called Gandalf and qualifying for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
It was his first international competition since Sydney but the Kiwi put up one of the best performances of the New Zealand team, helping them to a fifth-placed finish and managing the second best individual display, coming in 17th overall.
Todd continued his comeback in April this year, clinching a fourth title at the Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire aboard NZB Land Vision.
His victory came 31 years after he first lifted the trophy at the tournament, having won in 1980, 1994 and 1996.
By securing the Badminton title, and becoming the oldest rider ever to do so, Todd has put himself firmly in the frame as a contender for silverware at 2012.
