Carlisle destroyed injury-ravaged MK Dons 5-0 thanks to a blistering second-half display of attacking football. The Cumbrians grabbed a 21st minute lead against the run of play when Kevan Hurst swung in a corner from the right and Ian Harte scored his 12th goal of the season with a glancing, downwards header from six yards. Carlisle extended their lead in the 39th minute when Adam Clayton's speculative effort took a huge deflection into the path of Matty Robson, who slid his shot low across keeper Willy Gueret from the left-hand edge of the six-yard box. Daryll Duffy, making his home debut on loan from Bristol Rovers, made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute, side-footing home from inside the six-yard box after Paul Thirlwell and Robson had split the defence. The rampant home side went further in front eight minutes later. This time it was Scott Dobie controlling a left-wing cross and bursting between two defenders to lash home from eight yards. Joe Anyinsah came on as a substitute for Dobie and scored with his first touch in the 74th minute, turning in Peter Murphy's cross.
