Terry and Boyd fire Orient to 2-0 win

Leyton Orient secured a 2-0 victory over Walsall to climb above their rivals and into ninth. Paul Terry, brother of England captain John, notched his first goal for the club in the 73rd minute, shooting home from close range following good work by Adam Boyd. And before Walsall had a chance to recover left-back Paul Boertien brought down JJ Melligan for Boyd to hammer home his fourth goal of the season from the resulting penalty. Walsall had plenty of the play but rarely looked like penetrating an impressive Orient defence despite the hard work of Jabo Ibehre, playing against his old team. Walsall will regret their one real missed chance which came in the 70th minute when Anthony Gerrard headed wide from close range following a good in-swinging corner from Chris Palmer. Even when the Saddlers brought on striker Michael Ricketts, who had been suspended for three matches it made little difference though he too missed a chance late on from Ibehre's pass, then Ibehre himself headed over from a Marco Reich cross with three minutes left.
