Downing happy to re-sign Charlton midfielder
Cheltenham Town have re-signed Charlton Athletic midfielder Dean Sinclair on a month's loan.
Sinclair spent over two months on loan with Cheltenham last season and impressed Robins manager Keith Downing.
He has made just two appearances since joining Charlton from Barnet 12 months ago, and Downing admits he wanted to sign the 23-year-old on a longer deal.
"Dean was excellent for us last year and had a very successful spell at the club," Downing told the club's official website.
Real good addition
"Dean has the ability to break into the box and can provide a goal or two from midfield. He is confident with the ball and is a real good addition for us.
"I also think a lot of the players appreciate what he can do and are glad to see him back.
"I'm trying to get longer-term signings if I can and I asked Dean if he would come to us for six months.
"He is only prepared to do a month at present because he wants to get into the squad at Charlton this season, but we'll continue to look at it."
Meanwhile, trialists Ryan Burge, Andy Nicholas, Callum Hart, Trevor Benjamin and Alistair John will all play for Cheltenham's reserves against their Swansea counterparts on Tuesday.
