Benfica keeper out of Euro 2008
Portugal will be without goalkeeper Quim for Euro 2008 after it was confirmed he has broken his wrist.
The Benfica shot-stopper took a blow to his hand on Friday and scans have now revealed a break.
Quim had been vying with Ricardo for Portugal's number one shirt, although his place in the squad will now be taken by Porto's Nuno Espirito Santo.
"He will stay with the team until around the 15th of June but he cannot play," said Uefa spokesman Jorge Baptista.
"He will be replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo of Porto on Sunday."
Portugal open their Euro 2008 campaign against Turkey later on Saturday.
