Antoine Semenyo struck in the eighth minute of stoppage time to earn Newport a last-gasp 2-1 triumph over Stevenage.
Matty Dolan got the hosts off to a rapid start with the opening goal inside the first minute, but Luther Wildin equalised on the stroke of half-time.
Newport had been forced to come from behind to salvage points in each of their last three matches, but Dolan made sure that would not be the case this time around with a stunning left-footed strike from 25 yards after just 46 seconds.
There was little to get excited about for the rest of the half until the first minute of stoppage time when Jamal Campbell-Ryce crossed to the back post for right-back Luther Wildin to head back across goal and past goalkeeper Joe Day to level the scores.
A serious injury to Robbie Willmott meant there were nine minutes of added time, and Semenyo waited until the eighth to cut inside and fire into the back of the net to earn a first victory in three matches for the Welsh outfit.
