Chesterfield come from behind to earn 2-2 draw

Chesterfield hit back to snatch a 2-2 draw after Dagenham & Redbridge had taken a two-goal lead at Saltergate. A Danny Green double put the visitors in control but Barry Conlon's third penalty in eight days rescued the home side a minute from time. The visitors had taken a while to settle but they were gifted a goal in the 27th minute when Mark Allott needlessly pushed over Jon Nurse and Green dispatched the penalty. Josh Scott almost added a second three minutes later with a drive that hit the inside of a post but Chesterfield pushed Dagenham back and Derek Niven headed a good chance over in the 42nd minute. Ian Breckin glanced a free-kick just wide in first-half stoppage time and Jack Lester struck the top of the bar with an overhead kick but Dagenham scored again in the 50th minute when Green smashed in an unstoppable 30-yard free-kick. Chesterfield were back in it when Ishmel Demontagnac fired into the top corner from 20 yards in the 69th minute and they levelled in the 89th minute when Allott was tripped and Conlon drove in the spot-kick.
