Alberto Paloschi will join Swansea City subject to medical, says Francesco Guidolin

Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin has confirmed a deal has been struck with Chievo to sign striker Alberto Paloschi, subject to a medical.
Guidolin has previously worked with the 26-year-old at Parma and believes his arrival - for a fee understood to be in the region of £8m - will offer a welcome boost to the Swans as they look to secure their Premier League survival.
"Alberto Paloschi was my player when we worked together at Parma. He was a promising player but very young," said Guidolin.
"He is a good player and a good guy, and will be important for us. I think he can help the team to get results and to score many, many goals.
"I asked my chairman [Huw Jenkins] if there was a possibility [of signing him] because I like him.
"I think he is a modern player and can play well in the Premier League, because he's strong and generous.
"At this period there are many rumours about players. If there is the possibility, I hope to have another midfielder.
"At the moment Paloschi is coming, and after a medical test I think he could be our player."
Paloschi is a former Italy U21 international who has scored eight goals in Serie A so far this season, with an overall tally of 42 goals in the Italian top-flight.

Despite Paloschi's expected arrival, Guidolin insisted striker Bafetimbi Gomis will remain in south Wales, while he is also keen to keep Andre Ayew at the club, following speculation Sunderland are interested in signing him.
"Gomis is our player. There are two or three other days of the transfer window, and I think he is another important player for us. At the moment he is one of my players," he added.
"Ayew is important for us. He is a good player. Rumours that he is one of the names [attracting interest] but at the moment there is nothing.
"The most important thing for me is to have the possibility to work with my players. It is a difficult moment for all teams, this is not a good period.
"Fortunately the transfer window finishes soon."
