Scunthorpe's climb up the League Two table continued as they came from behind to beat Port Vale 2-1 at the Sands Venue Stadium.
Goals from Kevin van Veen and Kgosi Ntlhe earned the Iron their victory, after Jake Taylor had put the Valiants ahead with half an hour gone.
Abo Eisa hit the post and Matthew Lund was inches away from capitalising on a mistake by Cristian Montano as Scunthorpe started brightly, but Taylor stroked home from David Worrall's low centre to give the visitors the lead.
The home side's equaliser came eight minutes later when centre-back Harrison McGahey charged forward and squared for Van Veen to finish from close range.
Within six minutes of the restart, Ntlhe bundled the ball home at the far post after Vale keeper Scott Brown was unable to push clear an inswinging corner.
Having dominated play after their equaliser, the margin of the Iron's victory could have been more emphatic had it not been for some good work by Brown.
Twice he denied Eisa, including a brilliant one-handed stop following a shot through a crowded penalty area, and he also reacted well to keep out a flicked header from Lee Novak.
Victory for Scunthorpe though was marred by a red card for Lund and Port Vale's Worrall following an altercation after the final whistle, as the players left the field.
