Kelly gets Magpies back on track

Julian Kelly's late goal gave Notts County a first league win in six games as 10-man Scunthorpe were beaten 3-2 at Meadow Lane.

Kelly was at fault for Scunthorpe's equaliser but the Irishman atoned for his error with a confident finish when put through on goal by Gavin Mahon. Krystian Pearce headed home Alan Judge's cross to give Notts the lead after 39 minutes but Kelly's mistake allowed Andy Barcham to quickly level a minute before half-time. The Iron took the lead eight minutes after the restart when a Mark Duffy cross was headed in by Bobby Grant, but the game soon turned on its head when the visitors were reduced to 10 men four minutes later. Oliver Norwood's late lunge on Jeff Hughes saw him given a straight red card and Hughes equalised with a wonderful volley from another Judge cross after 65 minutes. Right-back Kelly was the unlikely hero when he kept his cool with eight minutes remaining.
