Jarrod Bowen not for sale, insists Hull manager Nigel Adkins

Hull City manager Nigel Adkins say the club have no intention of selling Jarrod Bowen.

Bowen, 21, scored the first and created the second for Nouha Dicko, as Hull beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 to progress into the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The former Hereford United forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League by newspaper reports ahead of Wednesday's transfer deadline but Adkins is adamant the club are not looking to sell.

"You just don't sell him," said Adkins in his post-match press conference.

"We're not looking to sell him."

Asked if there had been any bids, Adkins replied: "Not that I'm aware of."

Bowen has mainly operated on the left wing so far under Adkins but Saturday saw him return to the flank where he excelled under previous boss Leonid Slutsky.

Adkins highlighted Bowen's performance after the game, admitting he now has selection issues when they return to action in the Sky Bet Championship.

He said: "I'm pleased we won the game, we deserved it, we had a lot of opportunities and I'm pleased we took two, we could have took more.

"Sometimes you have to have the option to move players and obviously Grosicki played the 15 minutes, he's been out for a month and Diomande played on the left to give him an opportunity to impress with his pace and power and that allowed me to put Bowen on the right.

"He had a great game today let's be fair, great cross from Jackson Irvine for the second goal that Jarrod has nodded back for Dicko and what a leap to head that ball in the back of the net. Fantastic."
