Coventry have signed Marvin Sordell on a one-year contract after his Colchester deal expired.
The 25-year-old former Watford, Bolton and Burnley striker made 25 appearances for the U's in the 2015-16 campaign, scoring six goals.
Sordell also featured 14 times for England U21s earlier in his career and represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics.
Speaking to the club's website, Sky Blues manager Tony Mowbray said: "Marvin is a player that the club followed closely last year and was a prime target for us in the summer window.
"He performed extremely well for Colchester United in the first half of last season and will give us another valuable option in attack.
"Marvin is still relatively young and I see plenty of potential for him to progress with us and make a positive impact on the season."
