Norwich City captain Russell Martin is not a transfer target for Brighton and Hove Albion, according to Sky sources.
Reports elsewhere claimed the Scottish international was wanted by Brighton manager Chris Hughton, who worked with Martin while he was Norwich manager from 2012-2014.
Brighton are considering signing a centre-half but Martin is not among their potential recruits.
The 30-year-old has two years left on his contract at Norwich and he is understood to be very happy at Carrow Road.
The Canaries had a disappointing 2015-2016 season as they were relegated from the Premier League after finishing nineteenth.
Both clubs are expected to be among the Championship promotion challengers this season and will meet on October 29.
