Jack Butland was named Stoke City's Player of the Year at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony.

The England keeper held off a challenge from Marko Arnautovic, who won the Players' Player of the Year award.

Butland was in superb form for the Potters until he suffered a season-ending ankle injury playing for England.

He told the club's website: "It's incredible to win these awards and it has certainly made me feel a lot better than I have for the past few weeks.

Speaking on Goals on Sunday, Stoke and England goalkeeper Jack Butland gave an update on his injury

"Football is a passion of mine and I will always try to give everything I have to help the team pick up positive results, so for the fans to vote for me as their Player of the Year means a great deal to me.

"There have been some really special moments this season, and I have had many ups and downs, but to come through my first full season as a number one in this manner is absolutely fantastic.
