Sergio Aguero is some way behind Diego Costa and may not be at Manchester City next season, according to the Premier League Daily panel.

Costa's strike in Chelsea's 3-1 win over Pep Guardiola's City on Saturday was his 11th of the season and saw him move ahead of Aguero in the league's scoring charts for the campaign. The Spain international has also provided five assists this term while Aguero has not contributed any.

Costa's complete display

Sergio Aguero is the villain, Diego Costa is the anti-hero. Chelsea's title winner yet again?

Asked who is the better forward on Sky Sports' Premier League Daily, former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink revealed why he believes Costa is currently outperforming Aguero.

"He [Costa] is much more ahead," said Hasselbaink. "He is scoring more, he is participating more in the game. It's confidence, he knows what he is doing. When it is one v one, [there is] no goalkeeper he is afraid of."

Aguero is facing a four-match ban after being sent off for a challenge on David Luiz in stoppage time in the defeat to Chelsea, and Sky Sports pundit Chris Kirkland believes the City striker is showing signs he will not be at the club next season.

"It was a shocker wasn't it," said Kirkland. "The challenge was a disgrace. He has got that in his game, we've seen it with Costa, they like that aggressive side, but that's taking it far too far.

"I'd be surprised if Aguero was at Man City next season. I just think, the same with Joe Hart, some of the signals you're getting, I wouldn't be surprised if he's not there next season."

Hasselbaink defended Aguero's talent, despite the challenge, and believes any decision to sell the forward would be damaging to both City and potentially to the Premier League.

"I think it will be a big miss if that happens," he said. "I'm a big Aguero fan. I like him, I think he's a magnificent striker. He's got so much power, pace, scores a lot of goals.

"Yes, the challenge was unacceptable. When he wakes up this morning, if he has slept, he will be feeling very disappointed with himself. I don't think it's a challenge that any footballer, or someone who loves football, wants to see. But I do still like the football player, Aguero.

"The Premier League needs those kinds of players."
