Liverpool striker Raheem Sterling has been ruled out of Tuesday’s match with Tottenham due to injury.
The England international will miss Tottenham’s visit to Anfield after failing to recover from a foot injury.
Sterling was forced off with the problem at the end of the goalless draw with Everton on Saturday night.
The absence of the 20-year-old will be a blow to the Liverpool cause as he has played in all but one of their Premier League matches this season and is their joint-top scorer alongside Steven Gerrard with five goals.
Liverpool are hoping Sterling will soon sign a contract extension and manager Brendan Rodgers says the player has been offered a "wonderful deal".
Rodgers will also be without Lucas this evening due to a thigh injury but Adam Lallana could return and Philippe Coutinho should be available after shaking off a knock.
And Sterling's absence means that Daniel Sturridge could start, having made a pair of appearances off the bench since returning from a lengthy injury lay-off.
