Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Man Utd's top-four rivals hold advantage thanks to European progress

Watch Everton vs Manchester United on Super Sunday from 12.30pm on Sky Sports Premier League; Kick-off is 1.30pm

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says there is 'no hiding place' for his Manchester United players as they look to bounce back from five defeats in their last seven matches

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Manchester United's top-four rivals have an advantage over his side thanks to their involvement in European competition.

Tottenham stunned Manchester City to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday, while Chelsea and Arsenal both secured progression to the last four of the Europa League on Thursday night.

In contrast, United were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona on Tuesday and have five Premier League matches to play until the end of the season.

However, Solskjaer does not believe being able to focus on just one competition will help United, saying: "It'll probably give them a boost playing those games. That's what you want as a player.

"We would have loved a semi-final to play in but that's not the case so we just have to focus on the games we've got.

"These three games coming up [Everton away, Manchester City at home, Chelsea at home], they're our short-term focus. We shouldn't think about anything but having a great week ahead of us."

United's game at Goodison Park takes place on Sunday - live on Sky Sports - and Solskjaer says it is the ideal opportunity to move on from their 3-0 loss at the Nou Camp.

He said: "It's great to have games to look forward to and the focus will change straight away.

"Of course we spoke about it [the Barca defeat] after the game, 'forget about it, we're out, we want to be here again, and to be back at these stadiums again we need to get among the top four'.

"It's a fantastic week to look forward to. The players are in a good state mentally. We know it's going to be a hard game at Goodison, other teams have seen that as well."

While Solskjaer is expecting a tough test at Everton, he has been boosted by the news Ander Herrera has returned to training.

The Spanish midfielder has not played since March 30, but the manager said: "We're looking good. Ander's back in training and we had no one out from the Barcelona game."
