Ahead of Watford v Everton, live on Sky Sports on Saturday afternoon, we look back at the Hornets' first ever victory in the fixture.
Watford have only beaten Everton twice in more than 20 meetings between the two clubs, with the first coming back in August 1982.
Gerry Armstrong and Pat Rice were the goalscorers for the Hornets that day, setting them up for one of the most successful seasons in the club's history.
They eventually finished second in the Division One table behind champions Liverpool, with Everton down in seventh position.
Watford striker Luther Blissett ended the campaign as the league's top goalscorer, scoring 27 goals.
