The Rock stunned fans in Los Angeles after Monday's episode of Raw - by leaving former WWE Superstar CM Punk a voicemail message!

The People's Champion was at the Staples Center to film scenes for Fighting with My Family, the movie he is working on based on the lives of English WWE star Paige and her wrestling family.

The crowd chanted relentlessly for Chicago-born Punk, who left WWE in 2014, after a match was filmed pitting an actor portraying his wife, former Divas Champion AJ Lee, against a performer starring as Paige.

"One second, let me call [CM] Punk. Are we ready?," said The Rock. "It better not go straight to voicemail. I don't care if it's 11.30 in Chicago."

The WWE legend made good on his promise, phoning Punk and saying: "Hey Punk, it's Rock. This is not a joke.

"I am literally calling from the middle of the Staples Center with about 15,000 strong [fans]. I hope you hear this, they are chanting your name."

Punk later revealed on his Twitter account that the reason he failed pick up the phone was because he was walking his dog, but did thank the Los Angeles crowd for their vociferous support of him.
