Gareth Barry has chosen to stay at West Brom after he exercised an option in his contract to remain at the club for a further season.

Barry arrived at the Hawthorns from Everton on a one-year deal last summer and made a sufficient number of appearances last season to earn the right to choose his own future.

The experienced midfielder, who featured 26 times in all competitions, was one of four players to be disciplined for their parts in a curfew being broken during a training camp in Barcelona and last played for the club on February 24.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports News understands newly-relegated West Brom are adamant they won't allow Craig Dawson to leave on the cheap, after they rejected a £12m bid from West Ham for the defender.

It is believed the offer was made a fortnight ago, and West Ham have not returned with an improved bid.
