Kyle Edmund and Maria Sharapova are in US Open action on Friday
Friday 1 September 2017 18:25, UK
Kyle Edmund is battling to keep British interest alive at the US Open on Friday as the sole remaining representative.
Andy Murray's withdrawal from the Grand Slam coupled with Johanna Konta's early elimination leaves Edmund as the last representative heading into the fourth round.
Edmund will face Canadian teenager Denis Shapovalov in the second match on Arthur Ashe Stadium at around 6pm UK time.
They have met twice in 2017 already - Edmund won in the Davis Cup then Shapovalov won at Queen's Club.
One to watch
Maria Sharapova's controversial return to the US Open will continue against Sofia Kenin of the USA.

Marin Cilic, the No 5 seed, is the top remaining seed in the bottom half of the draw. He will play Diego Schwartzmann on Friday.
Cilic was the 2014 US Open and, in the absence of Murray and Novak Djokovic, has re-emerged as a major contender for this year's trophy too.
