Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal have enjoyed a record-breaking rivalry at the summit of their sport and will play for the 45th time at the China Open final.

The multi-time Grand Slam winning duo have met on more occasions that any other pair during the Open era so don't miss the chance to catch the spectacle of Djokovic v Nadal in the Beijing final.

The contest in China will take centre stage, though, as Djokovic and Nadal steer themselves further clear from Ivan Lendl and John McEnroe's previous record for head-to-head meetings.

The rivalry is currently in Nadal's favour, as he has won 23 times to Djokovic's 21, but the Serb won their most recent match at this year's French Open.

Djokovic and Nadal share their opinions of each other.

Nadal, currently ranked eighth by the ATP, overcame a significant hurdle by ending his Fabio Fognini hoodoo in the China Open semi-finals while the world No 1 Djokovic eased past David Ferrer.

Their meeting is the second of two finals coming in from Asia, after an early-morning match-up in Tokyo kicks off a Sunday of top class tennis.

Wawrinka, the top seed at the Japan Open, will have expected to be joined by home favourite Kei Nishikori in the final but there was a big shock in the Land of the Rising Sun's semi-finals.

Paire, the Frenchman who is the world No 32, ousted Nishikori and will now go head-to-head with Wawrinka looking for consecutive upsets.

The stats clearly favour the Swiss player - Wawrinka has won four of their five meetings - so set the alarm clocks early on Sunday morning to see whether he can do it again.
