Former Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips to join Sale Sharks
Thursday 5 May 2016 09:44, UK
Sale Sharks have announced the signing of former Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips from Racing 92 for next season.
Phillips, 33, is Wales' most-capped scrum-half ever, playing in 94 Tests, while also appearing in five Tests for the British and Irish Lions in 2009 and 2013.
His arrival at Sale will help cover the departure of Chris Cussiter, who announced his retirement from professional rugby on Wednesday.
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: "Mike will fit perfectly into our plans here at Sale Sharks. He is a big, powerful and very skilful player and has plenty of experience playing at the top level of the game.
"Mike will be one of three ex Racing 92 players at the club next season alongside Brian Mujati and Juandre Kruger."
