Ospreys prop Aaron Jarvis will join French Top 14 club Clermont Auvergne next season.

The 29-year-old tighthead moved to Swansea in the 2011 close season from Bath and has played 86 times for the Ospreys.

He is currently in Wales' Six Nations squad and represented his national team in the autumn World Cup. He has 16 caps to his name to date.

But his move to France could limit his international selection chances in the future, as head coach Warren Gatland is only able to pick three foreign-based players next season.

"I've really enjoyed my time with the Ospreys and am proud of everything we've achieved over the last five years," Jarvis told the Ospreys' official club website.

"There's still a job to do this season though and I'll be giving it everything to ensure I finish on a high before moving on to a fresh challenge with my new club."

Clermont head coach Franck Azema said Jarvis' experience had made him the perfect candidate to replace Castres-bound prop Daniel Kotze.

"He has a very rich experience. He knows the Premiership, Celtic League, the European Cup and the international level," Azema told the official Clermont website.

"Aaron has this profile and his qualities fit the game we practice."
