As if the city derby between Hull FC and Hull KR did not have enough spice, Sunday's meeting could have a huge impact on both teams' seasons.
Passions will always be running high when the two teams in Hull go head-to-head, but at this stage of the season both sides are also desperate for vital points, although both for very different reasons at opposite ends of the Super League table.
Hosts Hull FC are set to play Shaun Briscoe out on the wing as a replacement for Matt Sing, as Briscoe cannot get a start at full-back.
Briscoe has been told by coach Peter Sharp that the club will not be renewing his contract at the end of the season, and he could well follow Paul Cooke in joining Sunday opponents Hull KR for next term.
Black and Whites hooker Wayne Godwin returns after recovering from a broken foot, while prop Hutch Maiava comes into the squad to replace Garreth Carvell.
Sharp's men started the season dreadfully but head into the weekend in fourth place in the table after a superb run of five wins out of the last six games, although the play-off picture remains tight.
Paul Cooke will be the main attraction on the pitch, as he returns to the KC Stadium for the first time as a Hull KR player after his controversial switch to Rovers.
Hull KR make the short journey from East Hull to the KC Stadium knowing they could well secure their Super League status should Salford's result go their way.
Justin Morgan will know the Salford result but either way it is a must-win game for Rovers, and what better way to secure their Super League survival than by beating their fierce rivals and damaging their play-off hopes in the process.
Rovers have handed a recall to prop David Tangata-Toa, while loose forward Stanley Gene also returns to the squad after missing their last game against Leeds Rhinos with a shoulder problem.
Jon Goddard will be replaced at centre by Rhys Lovegrove, while Ian Hardman will again play at full-back with Ben Cockayne out.
Hull FC Squad: Briscoe, Dowes, Godwin, Hall, Head, G. Horne, R. Horne, Houghton, King, Lee, Manu, Maiava, Radford, Raynor, Tickle, Tony, Washbrook, Wheeldon, Whiting, Yeaman.
Hull KR Squad: Hardman, Lennon, Lovegrove, Dyer, Bauer, Cooke, Webster, Vella, Fisher, Tandy, O'Neill, Chester, Murrell, Gene, Tangata-Toa, Gannon, J. Netherton, Morrison, Aizue, Ward.
