Kenyan athletics coach John Anzrah has been thrown out of the Olympic Games after posing as a competitor and giving a urine sample.
Anzrah, who competed for Kenya as a sprinter, was with the team in Rio de Janeiro as sprint coach and he now faces disciplinary proceedings from the International Olympic Committee.
He is alleged to have worn the accreditation of 800m runner Ferguson Rotich and gone through doping controls, where officers found his face not to match the pass they were shown.
An IOC spokesman said: "We take note of the decision of the Kenyan Olympic Committee to send home its athletics coach following a violation of anti-doping rules and we thank them for their swift action.
"The IOC has immediately created a disciplinary commission to look into the matter with regard to the coach and the athlete concerned."
Rotich's coach Marc Corstjens said his client had lent Anzrah the pass to get a free breakfast in the athlete's village.
"Ferguson is completely confused as to why he would do this but the good news is that he found out straight away and went to the drug-tester and gave them blood and urine samples," said Corstjens.
It is the second scandal to hit the Kenyan team since the start of the Games with athletics team manager Major Michael Rotich having also been sent home.
Rotich was caught on camera earlier this year, by investigators from the Sunday Times and German TV channel ARD, offering a fake British running team a warning ahead of any drugs test.
He has denied the accusations, but was arrested on his return to Nairobi, where a judge ordered the police to hold him for four weeks during a doping probe.
