After nine months on the sidelines, Colin Kaepernick's lawyer expects the quarterback to sign with an NFL team within 10 days.

Mark Geragos was speaking yesterday on The Adam Carolla Show when he made the statement, which means under his timeline, he is expecting Kaepernick to be signed by November. 10.

"I think, within the next 10 days, somebody will sign him," Geragos said.

"I think the NFL has to come to their senses, and realise every day that goes by just proves the collusion case even more.

"There are at least seven teams I can pick off that probably should sign Kaepernick to a two-year deal and then they can just step on my neck and make the collusion case go away."

Kaepernick, who kneeled during the national anthem before games in protest against racial injustice, has been without a team since he opted out of his contract with the 49ers in March.

Last month he filed a grievance against NFL team owners as he believes they are conspiring not to hire him because of his protests.
