Who impressed you most at the Netball World Cup? Anita Navin has analysed the top team's star player...
Kim Ravaillion was top of the Diamonds' MVP tally and many would identify her as the dynamic centre who can out-run most mid-courters. She was making her World Cup debut down in her homeland and has now achieved 26 caps for her country playing in all of the matches during this World Cup.
Sharni Layton, the player who can disrupt any attacking play at wither WD, GD or GK, came a close second and also finished third in the table for intercepts with a total of 19.
Maria Tutaia the Goal Attack was a key player in the attacking unit for the Silver Ferns and also scored 184 of their goals in the competition. During the World Cup she achieved her 100th cap.
Laura Langman has won 127 caps and was placed in the top three for goal assists with a total of 106.
Serena Guthrie and Jo Harten shared the top position for England. Serena played a phenomenal season in the ANZ championship as the best newcomer so this world stage simply proved her value and her athleticism on the court.
Serena was sixth in the intercepts table and we all remember the number of disruptions, deflections and intercepts she secured in the bronze medal match against Jamaica. Not only did she take two huge intercepts in this game in quarter two but she set up her mid-court partner Jade Clarke in quarter three to allow England to extend the lead.
She was known as the 'menace' to many squads and coaches throughout the World Cup and, in the bronze medal game, will be remembered for turning it around and securing three intercepts and nine deflections - the highest total for any player in that match. Her total number of caps is now at 59 and she has now played in two World Cups.
Jo Harten scored a total of 259 goals from 299 attempts achieving a 87 percent accuracy record for the competition. Jo has now achieved 78 caps and is a key squad member for Magic, the New Zealand based franchise in the ANZ Championship for 2016.
Jo scored 52 from 59 attempts (88 percent) in the bronze medal match against Jamaica. Jo was exceptionally cool in the final match against Jamaica and many will remember how swiftly she carved up the circle and would not bow down or be effected psychologically by the Jamaicans' tight defensive unit.
Paula Thompson has a total of 68 Test caps for her country and is one of the most athletic individuals to have featured in the World Cup. Playing in her third World Cup, Paula played most of her games at Centre and some at Wing Defence.
Romelda Aiken, the ANZ Championship Goal Shooter, is playing her domestic netball for Queensland Firebirds. She is a highly confident shooter with tremendous height in the circle who scored a total of 216 goals from 233 attempts (93%). Romelda was playing in her third World Cup and now has 74 caps for her country.
Lenize Potgieter made her debut at the World Cup and, playing Goal Shooter, scored 298 from 333 attempts to achieve a 90 percent accuracy for the competition.
Erin Burger and Rochelle Lawson were both placed second. Erin was the MVP at the 2011 World Cup in Singapore and has a total of 81 caps. She is often on the Centre position and was seventh in the Goal Assists tally with 84 recorded. Rochelle Lawson was playing in her first World Cup as a Goal Defence and has a total of 13 caps.
Fiona Themann made her debut for Scotland playing GK and GD. She was 12th in the intercept table achieving 13 in the competition. Has played 24 test matches for Scotland. She was 16th in the deflections totals with 28 and finished one place above Sharni Layton in the table.
Themann also secured 13 rebounds equaling the total of Geva Mentor the world No 1 player to be placed 15th in the table. For intercepts Themann was placed 12th with a tally of 13.
Hayley Mulheron (GK) and 95 caps, Claire Brownie (WD / C) with 78 Caps and 12th in the Goal Assist table with 74 and Lynsey Gallagher (GA / GS) who was 13th in the table for Centre Pass Receipts with a score of 101. Lynsey achieved her 50 Caps here in Sydney.
