Broberg and Reed finished tied at the top on 17 under par and headed back to Lake Malaren's 18th, where Reed tugged his approach into sand and Broberg backed up a sweet drive with an excellent second to 12 feet.

The American Ryder Cup star splashed out to inside three feet to almost guarantee his par, but Broberg ended the contest as he rattled a confident putt straight into the middle of the cup to seal his maiden European Tour title.

"That's a dream come true. I've worked so hard all my life for this. I have no words," said an emotional Broberg, whose win was the 100th by a Swede on the European Tour.

Reed had earlier holed a 100-yard approach from a fairway bunker at the 15th for an unlikely eagle, and he made his fifth birdie of the day at the next before stumbling to a costly bogey on the 17th.

He gave himself a great chance to clinch outright victory with a superb second to inside 15 feet at the last, but he could barely contain his anger at leaving the putt short.
