Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor fails to show up for Togo

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has failed to show up for international duty with Togo.
Just a day after he was left out of Spurs' Premier League and Europa League squads, a Togo official has confirmed to Sky Sports News HQ that Adebayor was selected in the squad to face Djibouti on Friday, but has not turned up.
The official said: "He has not given us a reason. He was in the squad but he has just not shown up."
Adebayor has been told by Tottenham that he will not play for the club again and has been training with the development squad all summer. He is in the final year of his contract and is still being paid £100,000 a week.
Tottenham wanted him sold in the transfer window but he failed to agree to moves to Aston Villa or West Ham because he wanted a £5m pay off - 10 months of his contract paid up in full - which Spurs were not prepared to do.

Facing the prospect of an entire season without playing, Adebayor could still secure a loan to a Football League club or a permanent transfer to a club in Qatar, whose transfer window does not close until September 30.
Adebayor is expected to return to training with Tottenham's development squad next week.
