Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea progress in WSL Cup

Arsenal scored three goals in five minutes as they comprehensively beat Millwall Lionesses 4-0 in the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup.

Danielle Carter opened the scoring for the visitors, who had already qualified for the quarter-finals, before Rachel Yankey added to her side's lead with a 20-yard free-kick.

Chloe Kelly made it 3-0 before half-time with Dominique Janssen completing the scoring in the second period.

A Toni Duggan penalty and an Isobel Christiansen strike ensured Manchester City beat Liverpool 2-0 and finished top of Group Two. However, the Reds also progress to the quarter-finals despite the defeat.

Elsewhere, Chelsea stormed into the quarter-finals with Rosella Ayane coming off the bench to score four goals in their 8-0 win over London Bees.

Ayane was only introduced at half-time with the Blues already 4-0 up thanks to a hat-trick from Marija Banusic and a Laura Rafferty strike.

Goals from Laura May Walkley, Bianca Bragg and Emma Follis saw Reading progress with a 3-1 win at Watford.

Doncaster Rovers completed their campaign with a 3-2 win at Sunderland but it was not enough to take them through to the quarter-finals.

Goals from Emily Roberts, Bethany England and Courtney Sweetman-Kirk gave the Belles victory despite strikes from Abbey Joice and Sarah McFadden for the home side.

England's Ellen White scored twice and there were also goals for Alex Greenwood, Rachel Williams and Ashleigh Plumptre as Notts County continued their 100 percent record in the competition with an emphatic 5-0 win at home to Yeovil Town Ladies.

A pair of dead ball strikes from Bethan Merrick and a late goal from Amy West secured Aston Villa's first WSL Continental Tyres Cup victory of the season as they beat Oxford United 3-1 in their final group match.
