Manchester United will face West Ham in one of two all-Premier League EFL Cup quarter-finals.

United brushed aside rivals Manchester City 1-0 at Old Trafford to book their place in the last eight, while West Ham saw off Chelsea 2-1 at the London Stadium in a clash marred by fan violence.

The other all-Premier League encounter sees Arsenal play Southampton, who progressed beyond the fourth round at the expense of Sunderland thanks to a wonder-strike from new signing Sofiane Boufal - his first goal for the Saints.

Liverpool will clash with Championship side Leeds United in their quarter-final in a tie that will revisit memories of previous, huge encounters in the 1990s Premier League era.

Leeds needed a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Norwich to progress, while a youthful Liverpool team got the better of Tottenham at Anfield on Tuesday.

The fourth quarter-final sees Rafael Benitez's steamrolling Newcastle side, currently top of the Championship and 6-0 fourth-round victors over Preston, face north-east rivals Hull City, who won 2-1 at Bristol City on Tuesday.
