Dirk Kuyt scored twice as Feyenoord came from behind against Rotterdam neighbours Excelsior to maintain their 100 per cent record at the top of the Eredivisie on Saturday.
Stanley Elbers gave Excelsior a surprise lead on 27 minutes and it took the home side until just before the interval to get back on level terms with Kuyt's first goal of the game.
The former Liverpool striker then put Feyenoord in front on the hour mark and Excelsior's resistance evaporated as Steven Berghuis and Jens Toornstra also got on the scoresheet in the next six minutes.
FC Twente continued to improve after losing their first two games of the season, a 3-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam moving the former champions up to fifth in the table.
Hakim Ziyech opened the scoring after 15 minutes and Yaw Yeboah looked to have put the home side firmly in command when he doubled the lead before half-time.
Loris Brogno pulled one back from the penalty spot 10 minutes after the interval, but Ziyech scored his second of the game just five minutes later to secure Twente's second win in succession.
Heerenveen claimed their first win of the season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over PEC Zwolle, Sam Larsson scoring the winner just five minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute.
But there were no goals in Saturday's other game between Willem II and Roda JC, the 0-0 draw leaving the teams 13th and 14th in the table respectively.
