Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal is set to take legal action against a German newspaper after it reported that he had turned up drunk to training on the club's mid-winter trip to Qatar.
Bild reported on Tuesday night that Vidal had left the team's headquarters on several occasions in January and returned in an "intoxicated" state.
But Vidal has moved quickly to refute the claims and dismissed them as "lies".
In a statement posted on his Twitter account, he said: "I would like to say that the 'news' published today in a German newspaper are absolutely false.
"My lawyers have been already instructed to initiate a legal claim against the newspaper which will be responsible of their lies.
